September Garden

Tomorrow marks the mid-point of the gorgeous month of September - my favorite month of the year! I think the flowers still look amazingly beautiful inspite of prolonged periods of heat, then a deluge of rain last week, and not as much TLC as earlier in the season:

Fuchsia-an early April basket still blooming-it flourishes on tons of water and some miracle grow:

The rose, the rose-the lovely rose:

Salmon-colored Geranium-I can't resist this gently-colored beauty when I first see it in the Garden Centres early spring. Later I regret this color choice since it doesn't blend in very well with the other pinks, magentas, purples, reds...but still I will always have one salmon colored geranium planter methinks:

Beautiful flowers, Alice! I didn't know that September was your favourite month. I love it, too. Now in Nova Scotia, the mums are everywhere, the hydrangeas, rudebecka (sp?). On our yard we have plentiful swooshing grasses. And the leaves in the trees are just beginning to change colours. The fall air at any time of day is soothing, smelling fresh and beautiful. Views on our lake are also breathtaking these mornings...with an occasional kayaker or canoeist breaking the silence. And i can't forget the mournful cry of the loon. Also today we are celebrating Lou's birthday...that makes it extra fun!

Thanks for commenting so generously, Marilyn. So good to hear how things are similar yet so different on the east coast of the country from here, the west coast. Wow, Lou's birthday - I should have remembered since I do remember one of the great celebrations we were blessed to be part of a few years ago - Tappins and all! Great times! Happy Birthday, Lou - from both Al and me- and many happy returns of the day...you're catching up but you'll never catch us!! (Did I hear a sigh of relief floating this way from the east coast?)
