From our front patio doors I was able to capture a bit of the glorious morning sky!
...and again part of the Garibaldi range taken yesterday from a few blocks South of us. Our house, hidden here, would be just behind the trees to the right.

Groundhog Day was always capitalized on while I was teaching primary-aged school children. Teachers love themes. To run with a theme was a tremendous boon to daily activities ~ Math, Reading, Writing, Art, Singing, Science, an integrated approach, and a great method. In this way even the lowly groundhog was a special assistant to me as a teacher.

Beautiful pics. Indeed, the groundhog did not see his shadow at our place either...we have had a snowstorm happening.
Hi Marilyn- We were thinking about how you were doing when we heard about the snowstorm predictions for your part of the country. Snow is so beautiful too. Hey wait a minute, what did I write...hmm, we had a glorious sunny morning and you had a snowstorm...neither of our groundhogs sees their shadow. Lights go on...our groundhogs here, if indeed there are such creatures here, will have seen their shadow and now we will have winter for 6 more weeks!! Ah yes, my eyes were dazzled by the glorious morning sky...and I used to teach these things!!I hasten to edit that post...and hope to get it right this time:)

I know, I know!!! This is my first year NOT doing a groundhog worksheet or poem. In fact, I didn't know it was groundhog day until the day after. That's what happens when I'm out of the world of teaching for a year!
