A Trial Run...

We love spending a little time in the beautiful Okanagan during the fall season.  Because Al has experienced some health challenges over the last little while, with increasing limitations on his food choices, we had stayed close to home over the summer months where we could closely monitor this.  As he was getting help for these food intolerances, he was beginning to feel stronger and healthier and we decided to take a trial run into the Okanagan to enjoy the beauty, savour the delights of the countryside with its many lakes and vineyards and just revel in the luxury of being away from the every-day demands at home, not the least of which meant no cooking.  The weather was glorious.  Lucky for us we could still pick up fresh peaches, pears and plums in Keremeos where each roadside fruitstand is more charming than the next.

Such an abundance and variety of squash....

~Hanging Baskets still beautiful...

~time for a little lunch in Peachland at~

~loved the slogan over the wine cellar:
Wer Gott vertraut hat wohl gebaut~
(those who trust God are well established)
~a Bavarian sausage, sauerkraut and potato pancake seemed fitting~
~followed by a fresh plum "kuchen"
~ah yes, very fitting!

 ~a little walk
 along the water...
...quiet, warm and delightful...

...beautiful Okanagan Lake...

...prior to that we had enjoyed beautiful Skaha Lake...

Penticton is remarkable in that it straddles two beautiful lakes-
Skaha and Okanagan
We were amazed at how many vineyards and wineries had been established up on the benches of this gorgeous location, replacing so many orchards....

I just didn't capture the beauty of those clusters of grapes...

...we were so grateful for the opportunity to take this trial run and found it most enjoyable, enticing us to further adventures!

What a fun adventure! We have been to that gasthaus, though a number of years ago. Your pictures brought back some fun memories. It looks like you had a great time! Yummy food, and abundant fruit, flowers, beauty to behold!
